'The Shy Beagle' by KLM Kathel --- The Shy Beagle was based upon its predecessor, 'The Cautious Beagle' which, in turn, was based upon an original 1999 photograph.

'The Shy Beagle' is a follow-up acrylic painting and is best described as a study in black and white acrylics.

It is the same but different. It is the same because I was using the same basic Beagle photo as my guide. It is different because 'The Cautious Beagle' used a photograph as it primary source

Here in 'The Shy Beagle' I used the earlier colored painting as the source. I was also experimenting with background colors... Hence the difference between the green and black.

In addition, the original painting sizes are different. 'The Cautious Beagle' was a 20 x 16 and 'The Shy Beagle' is a 24 x 18.

All of the Beagle Art work shown here was created by KLM Kathel a former resident of Brooklyn New York where I received a few art awards during my High School years. (Ah yes, that head shot you see---that was taken a very long time ago). I am not a professional artist, but Beagle Art and painting pictures of our Beagles has become a passion of mine. My in-home studio is nothing more than a foldaway table placed in the corner of our living room and dinning area. I starting painting in earnest a few years ago when surgery compelled me to start painting again. But this time I beamed all of my attention and focus on Beagle Art.
